GEEB Service and Sustainability Initiative
Graduate Students in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (GEEB) members have pioneered biological research for the past few decades; however, with growing environmental changes, both local and global, GEEB has a responsibility to take action.
The GEEB Service and Sustainability Initiative (SSI) is a unified effort for members to give back to the community that supports our work and expand awareness for the projects we select. The objective is to fund and provide the labor for projects to improve the state and preservation of our community while promoting sustainable habits.
The SSI will have two arms: the first will involve a large-scale project proposal to the UIUC Student Sustainability Committee and the second is a self-funded community service and outreach project.
