6-Lamium

The flowers of henbit (Lamium amplexicaule) are complete and perfect. The floral symmetry is irregular, i.e., the flowers are zygomorphic. These particular flowers are also bilabiate (2-lipped). Both the calyx and corolla are zygomorphic.

The green sepals are connate below, the petals are connate, and the lower parts of the filaments are adnate to the corolla tube (it is hard to see this in these photographs).

The gynoecium is composed of 2 connate carpels, although the carpels are then secondarily divided into what looks like 4 units. The ovary is superior.
