A "pepo" is a fleshy fruit produced by members of the cucumber family (Cucurbitaceae). This fruit is produced from an inferior ovary with parietal placentation.

Examples of pepos include zucchini, cucumbers, gourds, squashes, cantaloupes, watermelons, and pumpkins.
