22-Liquidambar twigs

[FMP-field: image]

Winter twigs of Liquidambar styraciflua, sweet gum. Note the large terminal bud. The lower parts of the twigs often have corky ridges. The cross section of a twig in the upper left shows a corky ridge as well as the star-shaped pith.
