Master of Science in Teaching of Biological Sciences and General Sciences

The Master of Science in the Teaching of Biological Sciences and General Sciences (M.S.T.) degree program is designed for graduate students in a biological discipline who wish to earn teacher certification while completing the MST Degree in Biology. Individuals who are already certified to teach biology in Illinois public schools may enter the program to earn the MST degree while taking graduate courses in both biology and education.

Admission to the Master of Science in Teaching of Biological Sciences and General Sciences degree program requires:

Recommendation of admission to the Graduate College by the Biology M.S./M.S.T. Admissions Committee, School of Integrative Biology and School of Molecular and Cellular Biology; and

Applicants who do not hold a valid Illinois teaching certificate must also have the approval of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education.

The deadline for application is no later than NOVEMBER 1. Admission is offered for fall semester only.
