The
Department of Plant Biology offers a number of courses covering
various areas of plant biology, including:
-
Environmental Plant Physiology (IB 542)
-
Field Ecology (IB 447)
-
Organismal Biology of Plants
(IB
334)
-
Functional Ecology of Trees (IB 442)
-
Photosynthesis (IB 421)
-
Plant Ecology (IB 441)
-
Population and Community Ecology (IB 453)
Students may
also take courses in program areas of various departments including:
Biology,
Biophysics & Computational Biology,
Molecular & Integrative Physiology,
Microbiology,
Cell & Structural Biology,
Agronomy,
Plant Pathology,
Horticulture, and
Crop Sciences.
In
addition, numerous seminars covering special topics in plant
biology are offered. Other departments and training programs
also have weekly seminars that are open to plant biology
students and several interdepartmental journal clubs meet
regularly. Students are encouraged to interact with seminar
speakers by joining them for lunch and socializing with them
after their seminars. Some seminar speakers are invited and
entertained by the graduate students.
