Why I Should Like IB335
Here are actual quotes from previous years' ICES forms! Will we see yours here next year?
Dr. Robertson and Dr. Downie, I hate you both. The two of you have turned me into a monster. Whenever I pass a tree with flowers on it, something inside me forces my arm away from my body towards a flower on a tree. My arm, not presently under my control, rips a flower from the tree and proceeds to rip the flower apart and I'm forced to determine what family this flower belongs to. I think the two of you should be required by law to warn students of the aforementioned phonomenon since other students of past Plant Bio 260 courses have also experienced this, and since it will happen to future students as well. — Jim Leonauskas, Monster and Previous PB260 Student
I thought you guys were kidding when you warned us that by the end of the class we would be grabbing every flowering plant we saw to look at the structures! BUT IT'S TRUE!! Great class!
I must admit I was hesitant and scared at first, but I'm really glad I took this course.
Don't make the Judd et al. text required.
You should not have lecture quizzes weigh so highly on one's overall score! You should not use them to force attendance and punish non-attendance in lectures.
Review sessions are unfair to those who don't go.
Loved the labs; dissecting flowers is sweet.

Maybe have a section on edible plants in the woods.
The TA's were great!
The TA's were clueless!
I have no time for any of this. It was a waste of time, energy and money. Fix the heat. No one really hires a person for their taxonomic knowledge!
It was tough staying awake.
Lab practicals hurt my back!
I despised every moment of this class.
Why don't you lighten the workload?
Straighten the overheads!
Eliminate the course!
More lab practical exams!
Play music during lectures.
The profs had a complete knowledge of all things green.
Plant Biology has the best profs!
Dr. Downie didn't like students.
His mind seemed to go blank when I'd ask some questions.
Dr. Downie dressed nice.
I'm now more aware of the plants around me. I can now actually identify plants!
Now, I know all I care to know about plant taxonomy.
