Micro-lending Database

Due on Friday, Nov. 13 by 5 p.m. Total points = 10 pts.

As some of the most privileged people on the planet, we are in a position to help the less privileged.  There are many large aid organizations that one can give to.  However, research shows that micro-lending programs are among the most effective.  That is, the aid goes directly to people supporting projects and make an immediate difference in their lives.  Your assignment is to identify one of these projects and add it to a class-developed database.  Visit one of the sites below, or another that you find, and choose one project that you feel is deserving of support.  Enter the project information in the Micro-lending Database under the "Lecture Information" heading.  You will need to enter:  name of the person or group (1 pt.), name of the country (1 pt.), category of the project (agriculture, clothing sales, etc.) (1 pt.), total money needed (1pt.), make a link to the project (2 pts.), and a short paragrph explaining your reason for choosing this project (4 pts.).  You are not required to make a loan, just choose one you think worthy.

Check your link and make sure it takes you to that specific project!
