UIUC Life Sciences' Office of Information Technology offers backups for all computers affiliated with Life Sciences. We support backup for MacOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems. We can also support most Unix systems with a seperate backup system.

MacOS and Windows clients use the TCP/IP protocol to transfer data. Overall, backups achieve throughput of over 250 MB/min over our switched 100 Mbps ethernet.
