PDF Files
When downloading PDF files, they may open "sideways". This is because the presentations were created in a landscape format, and may open that way so that when they are printed, they print correctly. If you choose to view the PDF files and they are sideways, click on the "rotate" button
within the Acrobat Reader application (whether the stand-alone application or browser plug-in) to rotate it so that you view it properly.
PowerPoint Files
Follow the tips below to print out "handouts" of the PPT files for use as notes:
- Download the source file (PPT links on the Lecture Notes page)
- Open it in Microsoft Powerpoint
- When printing, choose "Print as handouts" option and specify, say, 6 slides per page
This saves a lot of paper, and is still easy to read and follow in class.
