- Are topoisomerase and helicase in the same group of enzymes or do they counteract each other's function?(13773 views)
- Why is the statement "When DNA polymerase III begins synthesis, it covalently links a DNA base to a DNA base." considered a FALSE statement? I thought the DNA polymerase covalently linked the base in a single strand. Could you explain it to me? (4908 views)
- Is a euchromatin a 10nm fiber or a 10nm microfibril? The material that I got says it is a 10nm microfibril. and the TA says fiber and microfibril are not the same thing. (5400 views)
- One of our homework problem asks "Which one of the following scientists helped to demonstrate that DNA, not protein, was the genetic information that viruses inject into bacteria?", and my answer (Hershey/Chase experiment) was correct. However, when I decided to look at the practice exam there is a question very similar to this one where the correct answer is that Avery, McCarty, and MacLeod made the discovery that "DNA and not protein is genetic material" which is exactly how the question is worded on the homework problem. Is this just really misleading or incorrect?(5410 views)
- Could you please check if I have the relative sizes of the following structures arranged correctly:
{(Nuclease=Nucleosome=Kornberg Nucleosome) <(Chromatosome)< (Euchromatin) < (Heterochromatin)}=Chromosome(4597 views)
- 1. Does DNA replication only occur during Mitosis?
2. Does mRNA in Eukaryotes have Ribosome Binding site? Or does the 40S complex bind with 5'cap of mRNA,and it's done?
3. What are the differences between snRNA and snRNP, structurally and functionally? (12472 views)
-
Why is it not correct to say that "DNA pol I is an RNA dependent, DNA synthesizing enzyme"?
(2429 views)
- Can someone explain what Mr. Mehrtens was saying about replicons, ori, and foci. I need help sorting out which ones give way to which ones. (8352 views)
