Can you please tell me if I have gotten the concept of x-dependent and y-synthesizing enzyme right? So x-dependent is the molecule which is required in order to do replication such as DNA dependent and the y-synthesizing enzyme is the molecule that is made from the X-dependent molecule? I'm not sure if that's the concept because I was thinking since x is the dependent, then shouldn't it depend on something?

You're right the first time -- the frame of reference is the enzyme in question. If you're DNA-dependent, that means that the polymerase or primase is dependent on the information in a strand of DNA in order to be able to make what it's capable of making. That's the "dependency."
