DNA Structure and Replication

ID #1714

How does primase know where to bind to the DNA template to create each Okazaki fragment of the lagging strand? Are the Okazaki fragments all approximately the same length?

There isn't some specific spot for primers to be synthesized (other than near the ori, of course). It's just wherever primase is loaded onto the DNA template, and the resulting primers can be of varying lengths and sequences.
