DNA Structure and Replication

ID #1689

On the post lecture question, is it supposed to say "2'" or "3'" end of the strand? I thought that there were only 3' and 5' ends of the DNA strand? Is it a typo?

No, it wasn't a typo. It's important to understand that the sugar molecule in every nucleotide has a 2' carbon and a 3' carbon, but you also correctly identified that it isn't the 2' carbon that the incoming nucleotide gets linked to. That's what made this an incorrect statement, and therefore the correct answer to the question.
