Why are low gene density DNA and not high gene density DNA replicated late in S-phase?

Regions of DNA that are high in gene density are more likely to be unwound into euchromatin because there are genes in that region being transcribed. Since the DNA is already unwound, it is easier to begin replicating when S-phase begins, so those regions will typically be replicated earlier in S-phase.
