For the exams, are we simply going to be quizzed on 'Big picture' questions, or do we have to memorize all steps of glycolysis and the enzymes involved?

Somewhere in the middle, but definitely closer to the big picture side of the spectrum. Please don't spend your time trying to memorize substrate molecules or the enzymes that catalyze reactions, but you need to know what you start with, what you end with, what's released along the way and what it is ultimately used for, etc. For both glycolysis and Krebs cycle, the figures I showed in class have "Net Results" in the corner of the page. It's not going to be sufficient to just memorize what's in those boxes, but if you understand the source and fate of all those "items," you should be in good shape.
