Lipids and Biomembranes

ID #1639

The first cell is likely to have formed from spontaneous liposomes with certain molecules trapped inside. Why?Aren't liposomes hollow with water at the middle?

Yes, a true liposome is nothing but phospholipids, but if some other molecules were inside and separated from the outside, this begins the process of what defines a cell. I'm not suggesting that this could have happened all at once, but eventually a cell could have formed from this process.
