So is a triglyceride any number of fatty acids plus glycerol?

The word triglyceride can be broken down into "tri" (or three) and "glyceride" (or glycerol) indicating specifically three fatty acid chains linked to a glycerol backbone. The three fatty acid chains do not have to be identical in length or saturation.
