how do glycosidic linkages relate to tertiary structures of protein folding? I was under the impression they were strictly related to carbohydrates.

Yes, you're correct. Glycosidic linkages are specific to carbohydrates. Which is a good illustration of one of the points I've made before in class: just because a statement is correct doesn't necessarily make it the right answer to a question.
