Proteins and Enzymes

ID #1618

One of the slides in lecture states that Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases are caused by errors in protein folding. Does this refer to prions, or are these misfolded proteins different from prions in some way?

No, these are not examples of spongiform encephalopathies, but they are examples of the consequence of misfolded proteins.
