Are cellulose and cellobiose the same thing? because they are both glucose monomers with a beta 1,4 linkage?


There are certainly similarities between the two, right? But the fact is they're different biological molecules because cellobiose is just a disaccharide, while cellulose is a polysaccharide of hundreds or thousands of glucose molecules.
