Actin and Myosin

ID #1573

In cell crawling, in the myosin-actin complex, is it the myosin or the actin filaments that move? In cytokinesis, in the myosin-actin complex, is it the myosin or the actin filaments that move? i'm guessing it's the myosin that moves.

In cell crawling, it's the actin that does the moving. The myosins are linked together at their tails and don't move. Likewise, in cytokinesis, it's the actin that is being moved past the myosins. This gives the cell the capability of depolymerizing what isn't needed any longer.
