I know that if the plus end of F actin has a higher critical concentration than the minus end, then polymerization is favored. Also, if the minus end of F actin has a higher critical concentration than the plus end, then DEpolymerization is favored. However, which situation is favored over the other? Polymerization?


Your understanding of the critical concentration situation isn't quite correct. The Cc is always the same value at the plus end and always the same value at the minus end. That value just happens to be different from one end to the other. So what makes a filament polymerize is for the actual concentration of G-actin to be above the Cc, and what makes it depolymerize is to be below the Cc.
