Actin and Myosin

ID #2469

So basically the A-band is a convergence zone of the I-Band (which contains actin but no myosins) and H-zone (which contains myosin but not actin). It's where the two overlap? I thought myosins move along microtubules not actin filaments?

Not exactly. The A band spans from tip to tip of the myosins, so it contains both actin and myosins. You have correctly defined the H-zone and I-band, but you may want to look closely at the sarcomere figure in the lecture notes so that you are comfortable with the arrangement of the A-band.
Myosins move along actin, not microtubules. Different motor proteins interact with microtubules.
