What do prokaryotes do to get rid of waste?

Single celled organisms, and this also includes many unicellular eukaryotes, will just dump their byproducts outside. Sounds wasteful and not very "green", but they are also more efficient as a whole and do a lot more internal "recycling" than cells in multicellular eukaryotes.
