Do we find mannose 6-phosphate in plant? Why or why not?

From what I can tell, mannose-6-phosphates (M6Ps) are mammalian-specific. Plants, yeast, other eukaryotes have similar pathways for labeling proteins, but they do not consist of M6Ps. Different types of organisms evolve differently from their ancestors.
