Golgi Apparatus

ID #1866

After the vesicle enters the Cis and passes through the Golgi Stack what happens as the vesicle goes through the stacks?

After a vesicle fuses with the Golgi, its contents are mixed with the contents of the lumen of the stacks of the Golgi. The enzymes that carry out the modification of that carbohydrate group (the 10-mer) are found in there, and when the two are mixed, the reactions happen that modifiy the protein so that it can be recognized where to send it next.
