Golgi Apparatus

ID #1294

I had a quick question about the type of proteins that enter the golgi. Since following the golgi, the proteins are either secreted or sent to a lysosome, does that mean that membrane proteins do not go through the golgi?

No, plasma membrane proteins go through the Golgi as well. They'll just be sent in transport vesicles that don't really "carry" anything in their lumens, just to get that piece of membrane (which includes the protein) incorporated into the plasma membrane.
