What is the difference between presequence and signal peptide?

In MCB 150, if you see the word presequence, it means the amino acids at the N-terminus of a protein destined for a mitochondrion. When you see the words signal peptide, that indicates the stretch of amino acids that either targets a protein to the ER, or opens the translocon back up if you're already at the ER.
