What is the function of signal peptidase in getting an mRNA sequence to the lumen of the ER?

mRNA does not need to enter the lumen of the ER. Translation only occurs in the cytoplasm, and membrane-bound ribosomes still remain in the cytoplasm. Signal peptidase, on the other hand, cuts off the N-terminal signal sequence of the peptide. Signal peptidase doesn't really have anything to do with your mRNA sequence getting to the lumen of the ER.
