For the proteins that are modified/glycosylated in the RER.....do only soluble proteins get modified, or do transmembrane proteins get modified too?


It's fair to say that virtually every protein--soluble or membrane bound--gets modified in the ER lumen, even if the extent of that modification is N-linked glycosylation.
