Mitochondria

ID #1225

On the slide that has the human mitochondrial genome, I wrote that the Roman numerals tell what complex a certain polypeptide chain will be processed in. Did I take the correct side notes?

The ETC and ATP synthase are large complexes of many proteins, 13 of which come from the mitochondrial genome and the rest of which come from the nuclear genome. So a Roman numeral I indicates that the protein product of that gene will be one of the components of Complex I, and so forth.
