I was wondering what, exactly, the perinuclear space was, and what is it between.


The perinuclear space is the region in between the outer membrane and inner membrane of the nuclear envelope. Because these are independent membranes, it makes sense that there has to be a physical space between them, sort of analogous to the intermembrane space of a mitochondria.
