Mutations

ID #1831

Are transposons a part of plasmids?

Transposons can be found on some plasmids, yes, but they are not required to be on a plasmid, and in fact if you're talking about insertion mutations due to transposons in humans for example, we don't have plasmids in our cells, so those transposons are not integrated into plasmid DNA.
