Mutations

ID #2013

when talking about the colon cancer, you meantioned "hot spots" in the genome. Does this mean that parts of the genome are more likely to get mutated?

It's not that those spots in the genome are more likely to be mutated, it's that when they are mutated, they're more likely to lead to cancers because of the roles that the wild-type protein products play which are lost upon mutation.
