Do polysomes only occur in prokaryotes? If not, then how can eukaryotes have polysomes if they are monocistronic?

Polysome formation is just multiple ribosomes making lots of copies of that exact same protein from a single mRNA. Notice that what I just described doesn't tell you if there might be one or more than one protein coding region in that mRNA, so polysomes can be found in all organisms.
