Transcription and RNA Processing

ID #1743

DNA in bacteria do code for rRNA, tRNA, and mRNA... does this mean that prokaryotes produce all three from transcription? I thought only eukaryotic cells produced all three after transcription?

Yes, any time that RNA is synthesized from a DNA template is considered transcription.  rRNA, tRNA and mRNA are all transcribed in prokaryotes, but they only have one RNA Polymerase that performs all transcription.
