Transcription and RNA Processing

ID #1729

For RNA polymerase, since its subunits are composed of the 6 greek letters that are called holoenzyme, but called core enzyme without the sigma unit, does that mean "Holoenzyme" and "Core Enzyme" are synonymous with "RNA polymerase"?

Not really synonymous. Both "holoenzyme" and "core enzyme" refer to states in which you might find RNA polymerase, but they do not refer to the same thing. One includes the sigma factor and the other does not.
