Dragonfly

Availability: These need to be ordered and will be available after spring break.

Housing: Dragonfly nympths are cannibalistic and should be maintained separately.  They can be kept in aquaria, small jars of water, or glasses of water.  The nymphs keep satisfactorily at 50 to 88 degrees F, but do not place them in direct sunlight as overheating may occur.  You should some sand and plastic or real aqautic plants or twigs for them to hold on to underwater.  Some rocks for them to hide behind would be appreciated as well.

Food: They will eat Daphnia, or larvae of various Diptera (mosquito, house fly), or Mayfly larvae.
