I am the course coordinator and serve as a resource for the students and staff of the course. I have lived in Champaign with my husband and two children long enough to call it home.  I have two grown children: one child worked in Chicago in community organizing and moved on to life in Seattle as a graduate student in Social Work and the other is a chemist in Chicago.  Because of their experiences, I have gained a new appreciation for the hard work of juggling study, training, and social time. My main academic interest is education, particularly in designing course work that stimulates learning. I would be happy to work with you to get the most out of our course.

When I'm not at home in Champaign, I'm often at our house a fews blocks from Lake Michigan and near Glenn, Michigan. 

I love to travel and I have been to South America and Europe as well as many places in North America. I like to spend vacations camping in remote areas such as the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Minnesota and the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. If you are new to the area and want to know where you can take a walk in a natural area, come and talk to me.
