The fruit of Datura stramonium is a capsule that comes from the syncarpous, 2-carpellate ovary. At maturity the capsule dehisces by 4 valves, releasing the many seeds. Jimson weed is featured in the lyrics of this song:

"Where the longhorn cattle feed
On the lonely Jimson weed."
