Flowers

14-Monoecious plant

[FMP-field: image]

Some plants have imperfect flowers with staminate (male) and carpellate (female) flowers on the same plant.

These plants (NOT the flowers) are monoecious (from the Greek "mono-oikos" = "a single house"). This example is river birch (Betula nigra).
