27-Cassia fasciculata habit

While most members of the Caesalpinoideae are woody, Cassia fasciculata (partridge pea) is a herbaceous annual. Note that there are "left" and "right" handed flowers. The banner petals are indicated by the arrows. In Illinois it is often found in prairies.
