Our lab is a part of the department of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Biophysics at the University of Illinois. Our research interest is in the various aspects of enzymology that tackle mechanistic issues of enzyme catalysis. Large part of the research done in the Gerlt lab also tries to answer the question of how enzyme functions arise.
