Muscle Innervation Study

Muscle enervation by motor neurons is a dynamic process determined known molecular interactions occurring at the neuron’s growth cone.  Myopodia formation in the muscle is the site where the dynamic process of synaptogenesis takes place.  This part of my research is aimed at gaining a better understanding of innervation and its timing in a developmental context.  This knowledge will allow us to gain in-depth understanding of the sequence of events as they unfold leading to the formation of a fully functional synapse.
