The activation-tagging vector pSKI015 (accession number AF187951) provided by Dr. D. Weigel (SALK) was used for tagging.  Mutants were screened using the "root-bending assay".   *Category 1 - plants show no growth reduction unless stressed by NaCl;  category 2 - in the absence of NaCl the plants show approximately 30% growth reduction; category 3 - in the absence of NaCl the plants show more than 40% growth reduction.
