The WebGlimpse software allows for web-based searches and browses of the AERGC E-Mail Forum Archives. (Note: the Archives will be available again soon.) If your web browser is properly configured, you may also reply to a Forum message directly from the Forum archives. (Please remember that the message you are replying to may be a few years old.)

A browse is limited to the archives for one month. Choose [Index] to browse the month's archive in chronological order. Browsing by [Thread] lists the month's messages by "thread" or topic. The raw archive is available in chronological order for viewing, downloading or printing.

Searches by default look through the entire archive. Options to modify a search by making the case of words significant, allowing for misspelled matches, restricting the archived months searched, etc. are available through check-box and scroll-box options. An example: A search for "thrips" will exceed the default limit of 50 files. The [Max. files returned] can be set higher to view more archived messages about thrips or the search can be limited to specific archive files by clicking on [Restrict matched files] then choosing specific months to search. (Use the keys SHIFT or CTRL plus a mouse click to select multiple months.)

Some searching examples·
(Note that that all spaces are significant; searching for two words separated by a space will not find those two words separated by anything other than a single space. Also, when using the comma or semicolon separators for AND or OR searches, entering the word "pad" will give a different result than the word "pads". For the examples below, leave out the "[ ]" brackets when entering search words.)

Example 1
Words separated by a space are searched for together, e.g. [cooling pad]. This search will find "cooling pad" only if both words are together and in order in a file. Files containing the phrase "pad cooling", "fog cooling", "fan and pad cooling", or simply "cooling" will not be found.

Example 2
To find files containing two words located anywhere in the same file, separate them with a semicolon, e.g. [cooling;pad]. This will only find files containing both "cooling" AND "pad" but the words can be anywhere (and in any order) in the file. This search will find files containing "cooling pad", "pad cooling", "fan and pad cooling" etc.

Example 3
To find files containing either one word or the other, separate them with a comma, e.g. [cooling, pad]. Files containing either "cooling" OR "pad" (in any order) will be found. OR searches tend to cast a finer net. This example will find archived files that discuss any type of cooling or any type of pad. This will include files containing references to "fog cooling", "cooling", "positive pressure cooling", "pad holder" etc. This search can be widened yet by entering [cooling, pad, pads].
